Why pros train here
Every January and February the world's WorldTour teams — Jumbo-Visma, INEOS, Movistar, UAE — descend on the Costa Blanca for pre-season camps. The reasons are simple: reliable 15–20°C winter temperatures, dry roads, a stack of 5–15 km mountain passes within 30 minutes of the coast, and quiet inland villages where a coffee stop costs €1.50.
The pro hubs are Calpe (the historic centre, with Hotel Diamante Beach and Suitopía full of bikes from December to March), Altea (Sha Wellness and Meliá), and Dénia (Hotel Denia Marriott). All three put you within ten minutes of the climbs.
The classic climbs
