Best value on the coast

The Costa Blanca South — from Santa Pola and Guardamar down to Pilar de la Horadada — is the coast's value capital: 20+ km of long sandy beaches, two protected pink salt lakes, dozens of golf courses, two international airports within easy reach and some of the most affordable property in coastal Spain.

Character of the region

Lower-key and flatter than the north — endless beaches, dunes, pine forests, salt lakes and a constellation of master-planned urbanisations (Orihuela Costa, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Campoamor) built around golf courses and shopping centres. Famously international, especially with British, Scandinavian and Eastern European communities.

Who it's ideal for

  • Value-driven buyers and retirees
  • Golfers (10+ courses within 20 km)
  • Investors seeking high-yield rentals
  • Snowbirds and winter swallows

Beaches & coastline

Long sandy Blue Flag beaches: Guardamar dunes, La Mata, Playa del Cura (Torrevieja), Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig coves, Mil Palmeras.

Food & culture

Salt-cured fish (salazones), caldero del Mar Menor, rice dishes and a vast international restaurant offer reflecting the expat mix. Famous markets at Torrevieja Friday and Zenia Boulevard.

Property market

The best entry-level pricing on the coast: 2-bed apartments from €80k, townhouses from €130k, modern golf villas from €250k. Mostly modern new-builds in master-planned urbanisations.
