The Costa Blanca North — from Dénia in the north down to Altea and Albir — is the coast at its most spectacular: pine-clad mountains tumbling into the sea, the iconic Peñón de Ifach, hidden coves with turquoise water and a string of low-rise towns famous for gastronomy, character architecture and an exceptionally healthy Mediterranean climate.

Character of the region

Whitewashed villages, marina towns and protected natural parks (Montgó, Serra Gelada, Peñón de Ifach). Strict height limits in towns like Moraira keep the skyline low. Year-round community, strong international population and one of Spain's best concentrations of fine restaurants.

Who it's ideal for

  • Buyers seeking villas with sea views
  • Families wanting international schools
  • Retirees wanting culture and gastronomy
  • Sailors, hikers and golfers

Beaches & coastline

Blue Flag beaches at Dénia's Las Marinas, Jávea's Arenal, Calpe's La Fossa and Altea's La Roda — plus iconic coves: Granadella, Portitxol, El Portet and Cala Moraig.

Food & culture

Home to three-Michelin-star Quique Dacosta (Dénia, UNESCO City of Gastronomy) and a dense cluster of acclaimed restaurants from Altea to Moraira. The local Moscatel grape and the Dénia red prawn are local icons.

Property market

Premium market: hillside villas, character townhouses and modern low-rise apartments. Most expensive micro-markets are Moraira (El Portet, La Sabatera), Jávea (Balcón al Mar, La Granadella) and Altea Hills.
